For the past few years, Trey has been an active force in Detroit's urban landscape, particularly in neighborhoods like Corktown, Mexicantown, Delray, Midwest-Tireman, and the Eastside of Detroit. His unwavering commitment revolves around ensuring that communities of color are not only seen but empowered with access to critical resources like land, housing, and economic opportunities. This dedication reflects not only his professional endeavors but also his personal investment in creating a better, more just future for marginalized communities in the city he now calls home.
Rhonda Theus, a seasoned professional with a B.B.A. in Accounting and over three decades of expertise in payroll, accounting, project management, and staff oversight, is deeply committed to community development. Raised in Detroit, particularly the Eastside, her strong work ethic and compassion drive her pursuit of excellence and her profound love for her city.
Passionate about making a positive impact on her community, Rhonda co-founded Canfield Consortium, a Detroit-based community development organization. Her focus lies in community engagement and rejuvenating underserved neighborhoods, notably playing a pivotal role in the transformation of the East Canfield Village neighborhood. Rhonda's mission is clear: to improve lives economically, socially, and advocate for racial equality by revitalizing overlooked neighborhoods and fostering positive change in Detroit and the world beyond.
Hailing from Portsmouth, Davy specializes in offering comprehensive development consulting services to municipalities, universities, and private sector entities. His diverse community leadership experience spans various roles, including a six-year tenure as the Chairman of the Planning Commission for the City of Portsmouth, Commissioner of the Newport Community Development Authority, four years as Chairman of the Portsmouth Redevelopment Housing Authority (PRHA), and active participation as a board member in the Greater Portsmouth Development Corporation (GPDC). Additionally, he serves as an Ex-Officio member for the Portsmouth Partnership.
His life's mission is dedicated to shaping both individuals and communities, employing innovative approaches to maximize impact. This commitment has yielded significant results within the Portsmouth community, such as collaborating with public officials to secure funding for master plans, conducting evaluations of potential development sites, and driving redevelopment efforts to stimulate local businesses and employment. In addition, he has been involved in discussions regarding possible tax credits and have actively facilitated collaborations between public and private entities. Beyond his professional role, he holds multiple affiliations, including being a Silver Life Member and Second Vice President of the NAACP Chapter of Portsmouth, as well as serving as Parliamentarian from 2012 to 2015 and maintaining my current membership with the Hampton Roads Urban League Young Professionals. His commitment to community service extends to his role as Vice President for the I. C. Norcom Alumni Association, and he's an active member of the Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Inc. Zi Iota Graduate Chapter (Pi Gamma Spring 02 NSU), the Whitney Young Jr. Social Work Club at Norfolk State University, the Portsmouth NSU Alumni Chapter, and the National Youth Sports Program (NYSP). Furthermore, he passionately serves as a mentor for the Brambleton Outreach Center in Norfolk, VA, and is am a Certified Peer Advisor.
